Cowes Ladies Fc was founded and formed in early 2017.
Originally an idea to get local ladies into sport and to get fit.
The team quickly established itself with good numbers turning out to train at the isle of Wight community club.
This venture quickly become apparent it was destined to go a lot further then originally planned.
After appearing in a number of public events across the Island and interest growing the team affiliated to the isle of Wight community club and entered the Hampshire women’s division 3 football league.
After a very turbulent start to life as a league team experiencing 2 managerial changes within the first few months the club appointed the then Cowes Sports coach, Steve Spriggs as their new manager as well as Lisa Woodward as assistant manager.
Forming a quick strong relationship between players and management the team have gone from strength to strength with each passing week. With new players arriving to compliment the existing quality within the team and a real sense of ambition, the team fineshed there first ever season in a very respectable 4th place.
The future of Cowes Ladies Football Club is also looking a lot brighter now with the formation of an academy team. The senior team will be looking to push on this coming season and do better than the 4th place finish we had 17/18 season.
With new coaching additions to the team in the form of Laurence chick as our new goalkeeping coach, as well as Martin Wragg who is the current academy manager and first team coach, we hope to attract new players – both senior and juniors. We also aim to expand our current sponsors and thus growing interest in the team from across the South of England.
The club’s ambition is to become a leading light in promoting and building the ladies game.
The current team management structure is as follows:
Manager Stephen Spriggs
Asst Manager/Physio: Lisa Woodward
Coach/U15’s Manager: Martin Wragg
GK Coach: Laurence Chick
